Terms of Service

Welcome to Pawcast. These Terms govern your use of the Pawcast mobile application. By creating an account or using the app you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. The service

Pawcast helps dog owners decide whether weather conditions are safe for a walk. The app is informational and is NOT a substitute for veterinary judgment or common sense. You are responsible for your dog's safety.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Pawcast (16 in some jurisdictions). By using the app you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.
You may not share your account with another person or create accounts in someone else's name.
You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account. Deletion is permanent.

4. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the app.
Use the app to harass other users or to upload content that infringes someone else's rights.
Interfere with the app's servers or attempt to access data that is not yours.
Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the app or its content.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

5. Subscriptions (Pawcast Pro)

Pawcast offers an optional auto-renewing subscription called Pawcast Pro.

Plans and price: Annual ($19.99/year) or Monthly ($3.99/month). Localized prices are shown inside the app before purchase.
Billing: all purchases are processed by Apple or Google. We never receive your payment card details.
Auto-renewal: your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period for the same price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your account is charged within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
Free trial: if your plan includes a free trial, the trial converts automatically to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless you cancel before it ends. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited if you purchase a subscription before the trial ends.
Cancellation: cancel anytime in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on iOS, or in Play Store → Subscriptions on Android. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Refunds: handled by Apple or Google under their own refund policies. We do not issue refunds directly.
Price changes: we may change subscription prices in the future. You will be notified before any change takes effect.

EU consumers: you have a statutory right to withdraw from this subscription within 14 days of purchase. You expressly request that we begin providing the service immediately, and you acknowledge that this withdrawal right ends once the service has been fully performed.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided "as is" and "as available". Weather data is supplied by third-party providers and may be inaccurate, delayed, or incomplete. We do NOT guarantee that the app will identify every unsafe condition or that following its recommendations will prevent harm to your dog. Always use your own judgment, consult a veterinarian for medical advice, and check conditions yourself before going outside.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pawcast and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

8. Intellectual property

Pawcast and all related logos, trademarks, and content (other than your own uploads and your dog's information) are owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for your own non-commercial use.

You retain ownership of the content you upload (e.g. photos of your dog) but grant us a limited license to store, process, and display that content solely to provide the app to you.

9. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute resolution) will continue to apply.

10. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts located in the State of California, except where mandatory local consumer law gives you a different right.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will notify you inside the app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

12. Apple-specific terms

If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that:

These Terms are between you and Pawcast, not between you and Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
In the event of any failure of the app to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.
Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the app.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
